Camp Fernwood is an all-girls residential summer camp located in Poland, Maine for campers ages 7 to 15. Founded in 1921, Camp Fernwood is rooted in the four principles of living simply, enjoying the beauty and wonder of natural surroundings, nurturing tolerance and unselfishness, and developing loving, lifelong friendships.

Camp Fernwood's program is intentional, allowing for friendships to form, independence and resilience to develop, and girls to fully immerse themselves in the complete camp experience.

Imagine waking up in a tree house, Conestoga wagon, or Adirondack cabin to fresh air and birdsong, then spending the day exploring wooded trails, trying new outdoor skills, creating hands-on crafts, and laughing around camp with a supportive community. Camp Wood Haven overnight programs blend classic camp magic with purposeful growth, helping campers build independence, resilience, and teamwork while still having the time of their lives. Plus, Wood Haven is known for its top-quality equestrian programs!

Here, girls don’t just participate, they belong. With caring staff, age-appropriate activities, and an environment designed to build confidence, campers leave with more than memories. They leave with stronger voices, braver hearts, and friendships that last long after summer ends.

Through hands-on activities and historic skills, campers explore colonial history in an immersive, interactive, and fun environment. 

Each week centers on a different theme, with activities that may include hearth cooking, textile work, gardening, blacksmithing, candle making, and caring for the farm’s heritage-breed animals. 

Campers gain new skills while experiencing the daily tasks that shaped life in early Pennsylvania. 

Camps run Monday through Friday,* 9 AM to 3 PM onsite at Colonial Pennsylvania Farmstead in Ridley Creek State Park. Age range is 7-12 and 12-15, depending on the camp week. 

ESF Camps offer a summer full of adventure for rising grades PreS–7th. From sports, arts, and science to learning to swim, campers choose their own path. With caring staff, classic traditions, special events, and a safe, joyful environment, children build independence, teamwork, and lasting friendships - experiencing growth, discovery, and MAXJOY.

Summer Discovery at Newlin Grist Mill offers history- and nature-based experiences in an engaging, inclusive, outdoor environment for children ages 4-12. Campers share unique experiences that connect and expand their interactions with each other and their community. Summer Discovery is the place where learning is fun!

At Summer Discovery, we strive to provide fun, engaging activities that encourage campers to follow their passions and connect with the world around them. Traditional camp fun like hiking, games, and scavenger hunts are intertwined with unique educational opportunities that highlight the nature and history our site has to offer. On any given day, campers might be looking for frogs, building a sculpture of recycled materials, baking cookies from an 18th century recipe, or experimenting with magic bubbles. There is no end to the fun adventures that can be had!
